Recently, the big news of domestic power battery industry broke out frequently. First, SAIC cut into the power battery plate, married with Ningde Age, the second largest power battery company in China and the third largest power battery company in the world, and set up a power battery system company. Later, it was reported that BYD would break up the power battery sector, open its portal or supply to all automobile companies. It was reported that this move might change the global market. Bureau. Moreover, the domestic electric vehicle market ranks first in the world for two consecutive years, with a cumulative promotion of more than 1 million vehicles, accounting for more than 50% of the global market. China surpasses the United States to take the lead in the electric vehicle market. It can be said that the electric vehicle industry has unlimited prospects and rapid development. The key is to improve the technical level of power batteries.
The development of electric vehicles needs better batteries. The specific energy, life, safety and price of power storage batteries are very important for the development of pure electric drive vehicles. Among them, lithium-ion batteries with high specific energy and long life are the most practical batteries for electric vehicles. They are widely used in hybrid electric vehicles, pure electric vehicles and fuel cell vehicles.
At present, the technical level of commercial power batteries and the expected attainable goals in the next 10 years are shown in Fig. 1. However, these indicators are often contradictory in the actual production of products. Battery-related performance needs to be weighed and considered. The improvement of battery performance should take into account the performance of electrode material, electrolyte and diaphragm. At the same time, the follow-up of assembly technology, battery system grouping and management technology is also crucial. The purpose of this paper is to summarize the development achievements of power batteries with lithium-ion batteries as the core from the aspects of battery material technology, design and manufacture technology of single batteries and battery system technology, and look forward to the future at the same time.
